Who this notice covers

This notice describes the current Variant Desk public beta. For privacy questions or requests, contact waqarhsyed@yahoo.com. Variant Desk is an independent software product operated by an individual in Pakistan.

CSV files and comparison results

When you select CSV files, the app reads and compares them in your browser’s memory. It does not send their contents, column mappings, label rules, or review decisions to an application server. No account is required for the current beta.

Your session is removed when you refresh, close the page, or clear the workspace. Exported reports and mapping-settings files remain wherever your browser saves downloads; you control those copies. The app cannot delete files from your device.

Local preferences

The app uses localStorage to remember your light or dark theme preference under the key variant-desk-theme. Source rows and comparison results are not stored there. You can remove the preference by clearing this site’s browser storage.

Hosting and technical information

This publication is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, timestamps, and security-related logs to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from your CSV contents, which the app does not upload.

Variant Desk does not add advertising pixels or third-party analytics scripts. Platform-managed logging and browser behavior remain subject to the hosting provider’s policies, including Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not control the provider’s log-retention schedule.

Support email

If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send through Yahoo Mail. We use them to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain relevant correspondence. Please send redacted examples rather than confidential source files.

You can request access, correction, or deletion of support information by emailing the support address. We review requests subject to applicable legal obligations and the email provider’s capabilities. No fixed automatic deletion schedule is currently configured.

Payments and changes

The beta does not collect payments or payment-card details. This notice will be updated to explain order and license information before a payment integration is enabled.
